Queen City Alumnae is committed to helping our youth achieve their potential
in life. In
addition to a variety of youth programs, the chapter offers scholarships to
college bound students. Since 1989, area youth have benefited from more than
$200,000 they have been given in scholarships and awards.
The following scholarships are available to those meeting the
requirements:

Golden Delta Scholarship (Beautillion)
·
Delta G.E.M.S. Scholarship (Delta G.E.M.S. participants)
·
Community Scholarships (females)
Scholarship
requirements include (but are not limited to) having a minimum 2.5 GPA, public
service, and completing an interview.
Beautillion
Militaire
Age
Group: Jr/Sr High School Males
The
Beautillion Militaire is a unique and exceptional program that promotes the
educational and personal development of African-American, high school junior
an senior males.
In addition to the many developmental workshops, participants compete
for scholarships and awards.
During this five month program, the young men are exposed to monthly
workshops/activities which may include:

career choices
/ life choices
·
interviewing skills / resume writing
·
community service
·
bonding activities
·
male health and wellness
·
spirituality
·
financial matters
The
program culminates with a formal gala at which the young men are presented and
scholarships awarded.
Delta
G.E.M.S.
Age Group:
Fresh-Sr High School Females
The
Delta G.E.M.S. program is a four year program designed to promote the educational and
personal development of young ladies during their freshman through senior
years in high school.
During this year round program, young ladies are exposed to
African-American female mentors and role models and attend monthly
workshops/activities which may include the following:
·
career choices
/ life choices
·
interviewing skills / resume writing
·
financial matters
·
college visit
·
public speaking
/ conflict resolution
·
community service
·
sisterhood /
bonding activities
Young
ladies that complete the four year program are eligible to receive a
scholarship to be used at a college of their choice.
To participate in the Delta G.E.M.S., a young woman must attend a local area
high school.
Dr.
Betty Shabazz Academy
Age
Group: Females 11-14 years
The
Dr. Betty Shabazz Academy focuses on developing math, science, and technology
skills of African-American young
ladies who are 11 to 14 years of age. This
year round, educational development program meets monthly and exposes the
participants to African-American female mentors and role models who present workshops/activities that may include:
·
time management
·
community service
·
seeking and sustaining self-esteem
·
study skills
·
mathematics / science
·
technology
·
bonding activities
With
the focus on math, science, and technology, the participants increase their
analytical and problem solving skills and their awareness of career options.
