Greetings,
On behalf of the Cincinnati Queen City
Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, I want to welcome you to our
website. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded by 22 collegiate women
in January 1913. These dynamic women wanted to form a sisterhood that
was committed to public service focusing on issues that impact the community.
For over 90 years, the Sorority has continued to carry the torch ignited by
the fabulous & fearless 22 by continually being in the forefront of change
for the community. Locally, the Queen City Alumnae Chapter has strived
to live up to the vision of the 22 through execution of programs specifically
designed to address the needs of the citizens of
Cincinnati
.
Delta Sigma Theta programs are based on a five
point programmatic thrust, Economic Development, Educational Development,
International Awareness & Involvement, Physical & Mental Health and
Political Awareness & Involvement and serves as the foundation for which
all local programming is based upon. Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae
Chapter implements the national programmatic thrust in a variety of ways.
A few examples of our local programs are Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy,
Delta Growing & Empowering Myself Successfully (GEMS), Beautillion, HIV /
AIDS Awareness and Habitat for Humanity. Please visit the program link
for additional information. In addition to programs, Cincinnati Queen
Alumnae Chapter is also committed to assisting youth interested in pursuing
higher education. To support this effort, Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae
Chapter awards scholarships to deserving youth and since our chapter's
founding in 1989, we have awarded over $300,000.
Please visit our website frequently to remain updated on chapter events.
Thank you for your interest in our illustrious sisterhood and for taking the
time to learn more about Queen City Alumnae.
